In a recent study, 85% of artists represented in US museum collections are white, of that 87% are men. Researchers examined more than 40,000 artworks in the collections of 18 major museums across the US, to analyze the gender and ethnic diversity of their holdings. The disparities only continue to grow as we examine the lack of women in leadership and pay inequality.
